We’re a Safe Place and we want to help.

When teens find themselves in crisis or need a place to stay, they should know how and where to get help. Our city young people deserve safety and shelter, and many youths feel they don’t have either. Thanks to Safe Place, immediate help is never too far away.

Safe Place provides access to immediate help and supportive resources for youth in need.
4 the Jewel N U has been a National Safe Place since March 2023, and the official announcement and the importance of the same was unveiled on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 1:00pm. The ceremony and letter of congratulatory was presented by City of Savannah Alderman Nick Palumbo on behalf of Mayor Van Johnson. Right now, in our community, there are youth, who desperately need our help accessing safety.

Prior to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), Safe Place® provided a safety net for youth who were dealing with bullying, suicidal thoughts, homelessness, abuse, and neglect.

Today, due to COVID-19, families are experiencing intensified containment measures and children are at a heightened risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and domestic violence. Situations like this can easily leave a young person needing someone to talk to – or a young person needing a safe place to go. There are many young people who have sought out safety from Safe Place.
