4 the Jewel N U Global is grateful to be chosen to partnership with United Way of the Coastal Empire for the WOMEN UNITED® to help eliminate the transportation barrier for your clients throughout the Coastal Empire. Transportation barriers are often roadblocks to other socioeconomic factors, such as education, employment, and healthcare access. This fund will help transition women, caregivers, and children to self-sufficiency by providing a bridge to stable employment, critical appointments, and other family supports.
The WOMEN UNITED® Transportation Fund connects people in the Coastal Empire to dependable transportation to get to work, school, medical appointments, and access vital resources like food, job training, and other important services. The fund provides gas cards, bus passes, and may even cover minor car repairs to ensure reliable transportation.
On April 3, 2023, the United Way of the Coastal Empire announced the availability of critical transportation services via the Ride United Transport Access program, which enables people in need in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty counties to access a free Lyft pass good for $200 in transportation services. The funds must be used within a two-week period, and the pass may be renewed, provided funds are available.
